2023 CSA Week 6
The newsletter will be short and sweet this week. My family is busy getting ready to host 25 people at our farm this week. They begin arriving today (Friday), and we will feed them three meals a day for 4 1/2 days. Our daughter Isobel and I are the cooks. I've been planning menus and creating grocery lists for several weeks, and this week I've done a ton of shopping. The guys have butchered ducks and sheep that we have raised for some of the meals. It's going to be a fun but exhausting week!
For those on the payment plan, I am still getting an error when I try to send out new invoices. As soon as we get this figured out, they will be sent. If you paid by credit card for your first payment, then we will charge your card automatically and you will receive an email receipt. If you paid by check, then you will receive an email invoice. As soon as we get the error figured out.
Sadly, the heat and humidity have been brutal to our farmers' lettuce crops, so lettuce is scarce this week. However, we do have a few new veggies, and a fruit!
blueberries
yellow cherry tomatoes
beets
cabbage
Mickley Farm just got pork back from the processor, including various sausages, pork chops, and ribs.
Did you know that we're running a contest on social media? Share on your Facebook or Instagram page something about your CSA share, like a photo of your share, a recipe you made with your share, etc. Tag NWPA Growers in your post. And you will be entered into a drawing for a $10 store credit. If you haven't already joined our CSA Members group on Facebook, head over there and see what's going on.
I'll share a couple of recipes that I'm making this week.
Plus Panda Express Zucchini Chicken and Kohlrabi Slaw that I've already shared recipes for.
As always, I will be offline Friday evening and all day Saturday. If you contact me during that time, I'll reply Sunday morning.
Have a great week!
Amy
