Sweetwater Farms

Next two rounds of green onions in today. We’ve been planting quite a bit now as things start to dry out a little. We have candy onions, red onions, shallots, green onions, red cabbage, green cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, kohlrabi, three types of radishes, red beets gold beets, chioggia beets, spinach, arugula, baby kale, lettuce mix, salad turnips, peas and green beans all in the field now.

Bushel & a Peck Farm

We have lots of plants started in flats, growing while they wait to be planted in the gardens. Our cattle and sheep are getting impatient because they are still eating dry hay, but they can see fresh green grass on the other side of the fence. Because April was soooo wet, it delayed being able to move the animals to fresh pasture until the grass grew more. If we put them there too early, then they will damage the grass and we won't be able to rotate them through that field again this year. But the pastures are finally ready, so we will be loading them in a trailer and moving them to pasture a few miles away.

If you haven't yet signed up for Summer CSA, do it NOW! We're only six weeks away from summer goodies. If you're on the CSA page, in the top right corner you can choose the CSA Share price list to see the various sizes.
