Winter/Spring CSA Week 11

Greetings from our mud farm! We are all wallowing in so much mud this month. April showers bring May flowers, right? Well...too much rain washes away the flowers! Some seeds that were planted early have rotted from the rain. Let's hope that it will dry out enough to allow planting and growing in the fields soon.

Please note that I will be off work from Monday evening through Wednesday evening (including CSA delivery day). If you contact me during this time, I will reply on Thursday.

This week's features

  • Ramps from Bushel & a Peck Farm. Grab these short-season wild edibles while they're in their prime. Use in place of onions and/or garlic. Our favorite way to eat them is sauteed and served with eggs.

  • Radishes from Yellow Creek Farm.

  • Rhubarb from Bushel & a Peck Farm. Just a few pounds this week to get us started.

  • PA Sourdough is now offering Sourdough Dinner Rolls! Choose a 4-pack or 6-pack. Limited availability each week.

Payment Past Due

If you are on the payment plan and have not paid your third payment, then your store credit was not added to your account today. I resent invoices this morning to the few people who have overdue invoices, so if you did not receive that email then your account is in good standing. ***If you are one of those who received the invoice reminder and you pay it today, please email me to let me know you paid it and I will add your credit.***

Recipes

Quiche with Ramps, Mushrooms, and Brie. I already made this for my family this week. Absolutely delicious.

Rhubarb Curd. smooth and creamy, sweet and tart.

The newsletter is short and sweet this week. Cleaning and sorting eggs takes so much time.
